  • Conduct wildlife and/or waterfowl censuses using specific sight and sound sampling techniques
  • Collect standard habitat data (e.g. temperature, precipitation, stream flow, snow depth, wind speed, humidity, etc.) for inclusion in biological reports
  • Carry out wildlife population studies to determine the manner and extent to which wildlife populations are affected by management activities
  • Capture waterfowl and other wildlife species for banding or other scientific tracking purposes
  • Erect predator exclosures to protect nesting birds
  • Control invasive plant species using herbicides or other methods
  • Carry out vegetation studies to determine the manner and extent to which wildlife populations are affected by management activities
  • Adapt standardized protocols for use in vegetation monitoring surveys
  • Conduct vegetation studies by identifying and mapping plants in a given area
  • Write field reports summarizing biological observations
  • Use automated databases to collect and store data
  • Use GPS to map and delineate areas of proposed management action
  • Assist in the preparation of management plans for restored areas
  • Respond to questions from landowners or the general public about wetland restoration programs or plans
