  • Proficient in the healthcare registration process.
  • Obtain health insurance information.
  • Interview patients for information that is sensitive and personal.
  • Make decisions where there are little applicable guidelines or a bona fide emergency exists.
  • Independently deal with issues or emergencies.
  • Work as a team with the Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) and other staff to oversee the management of the healthcare facility.
  • Identify, analyze and make recommendations to resolve conventional problems and situations.
  • Plan and carry out projects to improve efficiency and productivity of organizations and employees in administrative support activities.
  • Formulate, present, execute and analyze organizational budgets.
  • Obtain or provide healthcare information for the purpose of transferring care.
  • Perform administrative functions necessary to release deceased patient to the designated funeral home.
  • Facilitate patient transfers to and from various facilities.
  • Experience with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy regulations.
  • Protecting sensitive information within a healthcare environment.
  • Protect patient information when receiving and/or releasing information in a healthcare setting.
  • Coordinate administrative officer activities of a medical facility.
  • Play a key role in the healthcare facility emergency disaster plan.
  • Function as an administrative officer of the day and is responsible for all medical, legal, and administrative functions of the health care facility.
