  • Schedule appointments and meetings.
  • Maintain a suspense system to assure timeliness of correspondence and reports.
  • Arrange conferences and meetings and advise participants of purpose.
  • Make travel arrangements.
  • Serve as timekeeper.
  • Route materials for action.
  • Establish controls to ensure meetings or deadlines.
  • Maintain files and office records.
  • Resolve minor problems independently through use of appropriate guidelines.
  • Order supplies and equipment.
  • Review all outgoing correspondence and reports for format, style, spelling, and grammar to ensure their accuracy and correctness.
  • Compose routine correspondence.
  • Review incoming mail for appropriate action.
  • Prepare responses to general correspondence for appropriate signature.
  • Compile statistics for monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Receive patients, visitors, and telephone calls to the service.
  • Resolve problems and/or requests.
  • Prepare responses to routine correspondence, recurring reports, and requisitions.
  • Take meeting minutes.
  • Receive incoming calls from patients, clients, staff and others in need of precise information.
